POD Support Network

Deaf Children Australia proudly supports POD, a support network for families and carers of children who have any degree or type of hearing loss. The POD Support Network aims to empower and connect families and carers through information sharing, social gatherings and other events.

Parent Mentoring

Our Parent to Parent Support program helps parents who have received a recent diagnosis for their child or have already begun their journey.

Family Camp

Family camps bring people together from all walks of life and with many stories to share about their journey. Meet and relax with other parents with a deaf or hard of hearing child. Kids including siblings can enjoy fun planned activities together and build connections with other children in the community.

Platypus Playgroup

Platypus Playgroup is a weekly informal inclusive space for parents, their babies and pre-school children who are deaf and hard of hearing to regularly meet.
The program is relaxed and supportive, providing opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing children and their families to have regular contact, interact and support language development through storytelling and play-based activities in a bilingual environment – English and Auslan (Australian Sign Language).
