Sometimes families and professionals are looking for support or services that Deaf Children Australia does not provide directly. This page has been created to help you find trusted organisations that may be able to help.
Here you will find a growing list of community organisations, programs and services that support deaf and hard of hearing children, young people and their families. This includes areas such as Auslan classes, advocacy, mentoring, wellbeing, education and community support.
All organisations listed here work closely alongside the deaf and hard of hearing community. We hope this page makes it easier to find the right support for your needs.

Expression Australia
Auslan education, NDIS support work, aged-care programs, note taking and captioning, advocacy.
Expression Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that has supported and advocated for the Deaf and hard of hearing community since 1884. We provide a wide range of services including audiology, Auslan education, NDIS support work and coordination, note-taking and captioning, community programs, and specialist aged-care programs. Through connection, language and access, we work alongside individuals and families to build inclusive, confident and supported communities.

Deaf Victoria
Advocacy, accessibility, resources, education & consulting.
Deaf Victoria is a peak organisation that provides individual advocacy for deaf and hard of hearing people and their families. Deaf Victoria advocates on behalf of deaf and hard of hearing Victorians to increase access to services and to educate the wider community on how to work, play and study with deaf and hard of hearing people. Deaf Victoria also represents deaf and hard of hearing people in both state government and disability groups.

Communication Extra is an NDIS-registered provider of Support Coordination to Deaf and Hard of Hearing people, we also support individuals who experience barriers to communication such as ID, ASD, Visual Impairment, and CP.
We are dedicated to enhancing quality of life by promoting independence and informed choice, and building strong, sustainable support networks. Deaf Sports Australia
Elite athlete support, school programs, sports modifications.
Deaf Sports Australia (DSA) is a national peak body responsible for providing advice, services, support and network with other governments, businesses, sporting bodies and the communities relating to deaf and mainstream sports involving its deaf and hard of hearing athletes in Australia. Our programs include:
Active Deaf Kids programs, providing school-based events involving deaf and hard of hearing school children;
Australian Deaf Games, a national multi-sport event held every 2 years
Supporting our 16 National and State Deaf Sport Organisations with their sport and recreation programs
Providing a sport pathway for deaf and hard of hearing athletes to participate in sport including international deaf sport events (eg; Deaflymnpics)

Deaf Sports Recreation Victoria
Connection to sport clubs, community & networking information, inclusion.
Deaf Sports Recreation Victoria (DSRV), established in 1982, is the state parent sporting body in Victoria representing the deaf and hard of hearing community. DSRV is a non-for-profit organisation that also manages Victorian representatives of Australian deaf sports teams competing in local competitions. DSRV supports deaf and hard of hearing Victorians to connect with various sporting clubs and to stay informed of events and opportunities for meeting new and like-minded people.
DSRV is associated with numerous sporting clubs, recreational groups and health and wellbeing practitioners across Victoria and is always looking to create new partnerships.

The POD Support Network
Connection, support groups, community.
The POD Support Network (POD) is a warm and welcoming community for families and carers raising deaf or hard of hearing (DHH) children. With groups in Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania, POD brings families together through online and in-person catch-ups, empowering them to share experiences, find support, and celebrate every stage of their child’s journey.

Auslansoul
Deafled therapy/counselling, art therapy, yoga therapy.
Auslansoul is a Deafled therapy/counselling practice that is culturally inclusive and language accessible for members of our Deaf community. Auslansoul is provided by Irene Holub, Deaf registered ACA counsellor, Art Therapist, Yoga Therapist/NAATI Auslan Translator. She has had extensive experience working in the Deaf community as an educator, wellbeing facilitator, family support coordinator, early intervention leader and advocate.
Irene understands how Deaf/Hard of Hearing /DeafBlind/Late Deafened clients are shaped by their identity, experiences, Deaf trauma including other intersectionalities in their lives and believes in empowering them on their journey to mental and emotional wellbeing. Available for face to face in Thornbury or via ZOOM for counselling,[/] art therapy and yoga therapy.
