Maddilyn Rose Suchodolski MY LOUDER COLOURS (Vic)

Tell us how your artwork addresses this year’s theme ‘I Can’:
My artwork is called ‘My Louder Colours’ because even though I can’t hear sound, I can show my loudest thoughts and feelings through colour. I used bright shapes, patterns, and a rainbow train to show that I can create my own world full of joy, movement and imagination. I can hear colours and speak in colours.

Tell us about the ideas or themes your artwork explores with the theme ‘I Can’:
My artwork shows that sound doesn’t only came through ears – it can come through colours, feelings and imagination. I used bright, bold colours to show the sounds I imagine: Pinks that giggle, blues that hum, and yellows that sing. I can hear the colours through moving, my drawing is my music.

What type of art have you submitted and why?
I made a colourful drawing on A3 paper. I used coloured pencils, markers and buttons. The pencils helped me draw the details, the markers made the colours bright, and the buttons added a fun, bumpy texture. I chose these materials because they help me show my ideas clearly and make my artwork look fun and full of feelings.
