Take part in this unique driver training program for deaf and hard of hearing people that support you in getting your Ls and more. Register your interest now for this program that will be held on 12 April 2022.

Ready Set Drive is an interactive workshop and ongoing driving practice program for deaf and hard of hearing people at the start of their driving journey. No experience is required, we've got you!

Having a license greatly improves independence for all young people and promotes more social, recreational, educational and employment opportunities.

This is why we have created:

Ready:  Road rules, road safety and awareness

Set:  Vehicle dynamics, basic car maintenance and tyre changing

Drive:  Driver simulation

This first component will be classroom based, and will aim at getting you on your Ls plates and on the road (with training wheels)!

In this one-day workshop, you'll learn about:

    • road rules
    • road safety
    • awareness on our roads
    • how to open up the hood of a vehicle to go through basic maintenance
    • how to change a tyre
    • vehicle dynamics
    • utilising a simulator to experience the dangers of vehicles in a safe environment
    • practice Learner test to get you ready for the big day!

The qualified instructors from CRUDE Ultimate Driving Education will conduct the workshop. Auslan interpreters will be present throughout the workshop.

Participants aged 16-21 who attended Ready Set Drive will be supported in arranging driving lessons and supervised driving sessions with deaf or deaf aware supervising drivers in collaboration with VicRoads and the Transport Accident Commission.

Spots are limited so register your interest to be the first one in line for Ready Set Drive now!
