Come and join us for a fun group tennis session at the Victorian Tennis Academy in South Yarra. If you are new to the sport or want to develop your skills, come along. Tennis is an ideal physical activity to engage in and a great way to meet new people. *Due to the extension of the lockdown in Melbourne, this event will be rescheduled at a later date. Deaf Children Australia's Tennis with Friends is a community-focused session for deaf and hard of hearing youth aged 12 to 17 years. It is a great opportunity to meet your peers, make new friends and have fun while engaging in a physical activity.
The event includes:
- a 1hr 1/2 group tennis lesson with a coach
- tennis equipment
- half an hour to relax, chat and enjoy light snacks and refreshments
- bilingual support workers
The event is open to any tennis levels. The session will be broken down into:
- Focus on racquet skills
- Developing a player's strokes
- Rally-based activities
- Introduction to Point play (playing points or trying to reach a certain number of shots over the net as a team or competitively)
This event will have bilingual Auslan-English youth workers to assist with communication support.
