POD Support Network

Deaf Children Australia proudly supports POD, a support network for families and carers of children who have any degree or type of hearing loss. The POD Support Network aims to empower and connect families and carers through information sharing, social gatherings and other events.

Families and carers raising a child with a hearing loss understand that there are many rewards and challenges involved. Our POD families benefit from:

• Emotional support from someone who has travelled a similar path

• Empowerment through sharing of stories and experiences

• Making connections and friendships

Pre COVID-19, coffee morning and picnics were arranged in Queensland and Victoria. To maintain the engagement during current restrictions, POD has developed online activities for both parents and children. These events have drawn families from across Australia and their success will see them continue. Follow us on Facebook to know when the next online gathering will be.

Camps

DCA runs face to face POD Support Networks in Queensland and Victoria and online activities which are available to anyone in Australia. If you would like to start a POD in your area, or connect to one, get in touch.
