We are inviting deaf and hard of hearing youth aged 12-15 from across Australia to join us for a free session where you will be able to connect to mentors and peers in this unusual time. Join us for a casual chat, take part in activities, learn from our mentors and discuss what you are going through in lockdown and Covid restrictions. But also have fun, and meet new people! This is a FREE event.

Description
Virtual Bubble is aimed at deaf and hard of hearing 12 - 15 year old youth from all around Australia. This casual get together will help you create connections and provide a breath of fresh air.
Over this unique session, participants will get to discuss their lives, what it means to be deaf and hard of hearing in times of Covid restrictions, enjoy activities prepared by our wonderful mentors and have a chat about anything they want.
Our 2 friendly deaf mentors will facilitate the session. They have lived experience and are passionate about supporting young people, to help them build self-esteem and to reach their goals.
A bilingual environment of Auslan and spoken English is offered to support all forms of communication. An Auslan interpreter will be present. Live captions are available when required.
Virtual Bubble takes place via Zoom and runs on AEDT time.

Session details
This one-off online video conferencing chat runs for 50 minutes and is led by 2 deaf mentors. Live captions and interpreters are available. The course is offered on a mixed gender basis.
What to bring
A desktop computer or laptop is best for you to interact with the activities. An iPad or phone isn't sufficient.
A second screen is needed if you require live captioning.
You don’t have to prepare anything! You can think about topics of discussions you would like to bring up.
Online on Zoom
You will be emailed the Zoom meeting details a few days before Virtual Bubble.
