Deaf Children Australia's Walk the Lanes is open to deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) youth and young adults aged 16-23 years old. You will join a private walking tour of our beautiful city, with your own guide from I'm Free Walking Tours, a fun and vibrant organisation specialised in Melbourne's unique culture and street art. All their guides are 21-24 years old, so come along and join in the fun!
The 2 hour tour will include topics such as:
- ANZAC legacy and Drewery lane
- Footy Culture
- Indigenous Melbourne
- Environmental initiatives
- Coffee Culture
- Urban Planning and laneway development
- Politics, protests and Feminism
- Live Music scene
And the lesser-known lanes and the architecture of:
- Melbourne Town Hall
- General Post office
- Presgrave Place
- Manchester Unity Building
- Coromandel Lane
- Union Lane
- AC/DC Lane
- Caledonian lane
- Russell Place
- Rainbow Alley
The event includes:

- Auslan interpreters
- bilingual support workers
- supervising staff
Access to DCA events are subjected to participants adhering to State vaccination regulations and venues policy. No refund will be given to participants who do not meet these requirements.
