Cambodia Immersion Program

Caitlyn was awarded a Youth Grant in 2019 to attend the Cambodia Immersion Program with her school.

Caitlyn and her school peers flew to Cambodia for two weeks  to mentor students in regional Cambodian schools. The program also included engaging in cultural expereinces and learning about the Cambodian culture.

Caitlyn understand that education is an important right for everyone. She also believes in the importance of giving back to the community.

As a deaf person Caitlyn has learnt how to communicate using non-verbal cues and wanted the experience to practice her visual communication skills with those for whom English is not their first language.

Caitlyn visited Siem Reap, Phnom Penh and Pothum village.

Below is a video of the time spent in Cambodia.
