A nationwide protest was held in all capital cities on Saturday 13 February, 11am (local time) resulted in a fantastic turnout of more than 450 protestors.
With only 0.3% of screenings nationally providing captioning and audio-description, protestors have clearly signalled that this level of access is simply not good enough. Click here to read background information.

In 2007/2008 the Victorian Government commissioned a review of Deaf Education in the State.
During this period Deaf Children Australia, the Parents Federation for Hearing Impaired Children Victoria (PHICV) and other Deaf Education stakeholders were represented on the steering committee who informed the review. Read more »

On May 1st and 2nd Deaf Children Australia will hold the 3rd National Parent Council.
This year's focus will be around the emergence of National POD (Parents of Deaf) groups around the Country. Another important issue that will be discussed is the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) and how this National Assessment Program will work and affect our children with hearing loss.
